While the systems from AFE tend to come with everything you need for great performance out of your truck’s engine, there are still some accessories you can add to make the equipment work even better. Cold air intake systems can make an engine growl or rumble louder than usual, so this intake cover is designed to muffle that extra noise for a quieter drive. It won’t change how well the air moves into the engine while it controls the sound.
Takes On All Challenges. The ABS plastic the cover is made from was chosen for its sound muffling ability, but it’s also strong enough to handle years of vibrations and shocks under the hood. There’s no need to worry about it breaking off while you’re pushing your F-150 to the limit. Vacuum molding ensures that it fits the cold air intake housings perfectly so there’s no vibration caused by the cover bouncing against the rest of the equipment.
Installation. Since the fit is so tight, the mounting holes line up right away. You’ll have this cover attached in under half an hour if you’re not changing anything in the intake system itself.
Application. This cover fits almost all the Stage One and Stage Two systems made for the Ford F-150 from 2009 to 2014. The exceptions are all the Stage Two kits for EcoBoost engines.
